Help, I've got chickenpox!

I’m an adult who just came down with chickenpox (thanks to my parents–my mom broke out in shingles when she was out visiting about 3 weeks ago) and, while I haven’t started clucking yet, the itching is starting, so if you all could pray for a mild, short case of it, that would be great!

Oh no, that’s nasty!

Look, before the prayers, a bit of advice:
  • wash your hands a LOT
  • keep your hands away from your face
  • remember to wear sunglasses outside, even if it’s overcast
  • EPSOM SALTS IS YOUR FRIEND. Trust me on this. Dump a ton of it in a lukewarm bath and soak. If you have really itchy bits, make a paste of it and let it dry on. Your skin will thank you a lot.
  • Don’t scratch.
HUG And please do take care of yourself. If it gets on your face, GO TO A DOCTOR.

Now then.

Heavenly Father, please heal your daughter, Barbara. Make her chickenpox go away quickly, and without complications. Please prevent it from causing her too much discomfort. We ask this in Jesus’s name, amen.

Barbara, I will pray for you and your intentions at Mass, in my daily prayers, and before the Blessed Sacrament.
 
Praying for you! Try not to scratch…Aveno bath is also your friend!
Don’t blame your mom…chickenpox is the gift that keeps on giving…you get shingles only if you’ve already had chickenpox. I know 'cause I broke out in shingles about a month ago. Call you doc there might be some med they can give you …they gave me an antiviral for shingles and it really helped.
 
Barb, I will keep you in my prayers. I got the mumps when I was 32, in spite of being vaccinated as a child. Childhood diseases are no fun as a child, much less as an adult. My prayers go out for you. :gopray:

I had chickenpox at 30 and please follow silentdeb’s advice. I will pray for a speedy and complete recovery and relief from the intense itching…DON’T itch!!😉

Lots of prayers, Barb. You’ve had some great advice: I’ll reiterate, make sure you do talk to your regular physician.
