Hey Folks,
I am in the midst of RCIA and converting to Catholicism from my Lutheran/Protestant background and I’ve read This is the Faith by Canon Francis Ripley and Rome Sweet Home by Scott and Kimberly Hahn. These two books have been absolutely FANTASTIC and have really given me a hunger to know as much about Roman Catholicism as possible.
I went to my first Tridentine Mass today and though I got lost about half way through, I loved the service and the beauty, reverence and heritage that it displayed. If this is what being Catholic feels like and the way it depicts God and the ways in which it allows me to see Him, then sign me up
However, I am the kind of person that loves to immerse himself in a topic when he gets into it, but I find that I don’t know where else to go. I’m looking for books about theology and philosophy regarding the Church, but I would also like works in the area of apologetics, the defense of the faith.
It is so surreal to be so excited about becoming a Catholic considering that less than a year ago I never considered joining and in some ways looked down at my nose at Catholics
Your faith and Church is so rich, lovely, reverent and majestic that I desire and hope that one day I will be able to call it MY Church.
I would greatly appreciate any titles or authors you folks could send my way. Lastly, I would also love prayers and thoughts you on my behalf that I continue down this path and that the doctrine and teachings of the Lord and His Apostles would always be with me. Thanks for the suggestions and thoughts folks!
