At this point, I’d just tell her flat out that the Church is not a democracy and she has absolutely no say in it’s teachings and practices. If she doesn’t like it, she can find another church because this one isn’t going to cater to her any time soon. Unlike other faiths, Catholicism does not change its beliefs to stay updated or keep with the times. Her efforts are entirely futile - like a snail trying to get an elephant’s attention with a grain of sand.

to the OP: id say stop wasting your time with this woman. she has an agenda to destroy the Church, it makes no sense trying to reason with her. she will not listen to any agrument you put forth, she will only try to persuade you to her demented way of thinking. save yourself alot of hassle and just avoid her from now on.

I agree with you that she should be told that the Church does not base its teachings on what is popular or fashionable (which is one of the beautiful things about the Church), but it is a bit harsh to tell her to take a hike. In John 17:20-21, Jesus prays that we would be united. Though she may be opposing the Church, we should pray for her integration, rather than instruct her to abandon the Church.
