Somewhere in the New Testament, iI believe n one of the Epistles, an evangelist calls those to whom he writes his spiritual children.
He says something to the effect that he has thousands of spiritual children.

I want to read this passage again but haven’t been able to locate it.

Please, if you know this passage, tell me where to find it?

Is it 1 Cor 4:14-17?
Paul’s Paternal Care

14 I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you. 15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. 16 Therefore I urge you, imitate me. 17 For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere
 
3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
John is referring to his spiritual children.
