Help me find the place I should be

I’m a single woman (not a “female”), fairly intellectual, not afraid of a little hard work (I work at a tough job now), who wants to help people. I have a deep desire to help orphans in Uganda. I don’t want to be married. At all. I don’t really want to join a convent, either. I could teach but going back to college to get a teaching degree would be way out of my budget and financial aid is a thing of the past. Please throw out ideas. Thank you.
