What you are actually trying to say, but you didn’t say it yet (…strange) is that you are not eating Him spiritually and neither physically, but that in the Eucharist you are filled with holy Spirit. Am I wrong?
The disciples did not receive the Holy Spirit when the Last Supper occurred. They received the Holy Spirit much later on the day of Pentecost.
The Comforter is promised to each and every child of God and not just when they take communion but when they receive salvation through Jesus Christ.

Louemma Jesus said he was a door and a vine to. No one walked away. Jesus even explained what he means. Look at all the parables Jesus explains himself. He would not let people walk away if the did not understand his teaching. When the questioned Jesus in John 6 he repeated himself he even used a stronger word for eat “trogo” gnaw or chew. Why would the John increase the literalness of eat if Jesus was just speaking figuratively? That’s a question I really want you to answer

If he meant it symbolically how hard of a teaching would that be would they walk away? How many people leave your Church because the symbolically eat Jesus?
Right now when we take communion we use bread and juice to represent the body of Christ. We understand what this represents.
If I lived in Jesus’s time and he said Trogo me for eternal life and I was right there with him,you better believe I would have understood just what he was saying and if I had to literally take a bite out of him,I would have pleaded vegetarian and Jesus would have let me use a fig to represent his body and I would still have salvation through Jesus Christ because communion is acknowledging you are the body of Christ, salvation puts you in that body in the first place.
I believe as long as we know why we take communion and what the bread and wine represents then we who partake of communion are still taking in the body of Christ:)
Right?

Right?
But Jesus did not say it represents he said take eat this IS my body!
How are you taking in the body of Christ when it only represents his body?

I never considered the vegetarian slant. Interesting point.

In remembrance of me can mean in memory of me since Christ is not walking around earth in body now. He has not returned for His 2nd Coming yet. You can take in the body by taking it all in, gnawing so to speak, really really believing Christ gave up His body for us.

This is what I’ve been saying, the Lord’s supper is a spiritualism feeding.Eating Jesus’s spirit body, feeding on the tree of life is quite different in a sense of REALLY drinking blood.
I believe I will take my leave of this thread because there is some type of communication problem going on here.I say we do this as a symbolism of eating his flesh and drinking and you say a spiritualism feeding.Do these two not mean the same?
At least perhaps our seeing things differently has strengthen those among us who is weaker in their faith.
This discussion and the confusion has led me to come to the conclusion that I will have to continue this discussion after I have read up on just how it is you believe and read about Eucharist.🙂
you are righrt in saying that is just symbolic. it is just symbolic to you because outside the CC that is all you can have, symbolism. One cannot have the True Body and Blood of Christ if they do not have Holy Orders, priests, Bishops and so forth. only the Church Jesus found is commanded to believe the Eucharist. did you know that many in the early Church gave their lives for the love of the Eucharist? did you know that the pagans forbid the early Catholics from using the Word Eucharist?

🙂

This can be found in John 6.I bet the disciples that walked away did not understand that Jesus was not saying"Here I am,eat me.
I’m not concerned so much as some not understanding that Jesus calls himself at one point in scripture The water that we can drink and never become thirsty again. Here he was speaking of a spiritual water that we can drink freely from.Jesus however did not mean water that you could find on this earth, only through him can we have eternal life. When we eat his flesh and drink his blood, this is like being in Christ and Christ in us.This thing they did was for the Spirit of man,to be be in accordance and in Christ.I’m going to leave it at that because I do not want to confuse you on your search for the Lord.I have an understanding but mine is different because I’m not Catholic,so I might confuse you here in your search.🙂
The bread represents that you are the body of Christ because you ate him(Spiritually)The blood represents that you are washed in his blood and that is how you are part of the body of Christ.I hope I have not confused you with a protestant view
you seem to suggest that Jesus deceived these disciples by letting them believe in something that He was not saying. i hope you know that Jesus cannot deceive or be deceived.

I don’t know about you, but if I were God, and a filthy, sinful rat would dare to eat by body and drink by blood I would crush it’s head and burn it’s body. I hope you understand.

In the Old Testament, the Old Covenant was made with the blood of an animal. The Jews didn’t drink the blood, but they were spilled with it… they witnessed the death of the animal. Now, Jesus said: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” (Luke 22:20). His blood is poured for us, making a new covenant. The Jews did not drink the blood of the Old Covenant, and since we are Jews in our hearts (spiritually) we should not drink His blood either. We are doing so in the memory of His sacrifice. Jesus in Luke 22:19 said: “do this in remembrance of me”. I believe it is quite easy to understand.

EDIT: so it is not cannibalism (physical nor spiritual).
i hope you realize that there is one Truth and not many. it is not what i believe is fine and what you believe is fine too.

seek the Truth and you shall find. if you cannot present any evidence of the early Church witness that what you believe is true, than stop trying to teach us what we believe is false.

you beliefs are modernized Christianity made up by heretics. what does heretics believe? they believe not the Truth but they make up their own beliefs.

Are you saying that if the majority believes something, that belief is right (of we should keep it) just because the major population believes so? In other words, is it right just because most of the people believe it is right?

i never said what the majority believes. the majority propably doesnt even believe in Jesus.
So, no. what i am asking is for witness from the Old that proves what you believe is what they believe in the Old days. that is all.

the CC has plenty of prove from the early Christians that what she teaches is what they tought back in the old days.

contrary to what you believe today, they did not teach or believe the same as you.

No, the ad populum argument always fails.

However, you would be going down a dark road comparing your brothers and sisters in christ (yes, catholics are your brothers and sisters in Christ) with the major population.

No matter what the issue at hand was that christians care about.

This particular issue is not one most people will or can accept according to your Jesus.

I don’t know why or how he could see that so far in advance, unless he really was God.
