I need some help here. My wife and I are about to have our baby baptized (we are Presbyterians), and we have begun to question why baptism is so significant. While we believe in it from the Presbyterian stand-point, we are struggling with the Catholic and Lutheran view. I want to believe in what the two churches teach, but I cannot seem to find any justification in Scripture proving that it regenerates infants. In my reading I have seen where many think that infants can be baptized because they can have faith, too. How can this be?
Like I said, this is something I find myself WANTING to believe, but I just can’t seem to be convinced yet. Can anyone help? Plus, please leave any Protestant bashing out of this. I am looking for help from anyone here. Thanks.
