HELP - Missal with latin bigger than english?

Are there any out there? I would like to buy one before Christmastime (when I’ll attend my first EF ) but the really nice ones like Baronius seem to have english larger… which is sort of the opposite of what I’m looking for.

You really don’t need a missal to attend an EF mass. All of the masses I have attended have a booklet missal with the ordinary of the mass and some of them also have a bulletin with the propers for that Sunday’s mass.

If you think you will be attending the EF regularly and really want a missal, I have the New Roman Missal by Father Lasance which has the English and the Latin the same size and not with the Latin “squished” as in the Baronius. You can get it on-line from:

and I think Leaflet Missal Company also carries it on-line and their shipping is really fast.

The readings are a bit different because this missal does not have the changes instituted in the 1950’s. I have also seen the New Marian Missal and the St. Andrew’s Missal are available on-line, but I don’t know the size of their type.

I’m going to my first right after Christmas, but then I’ll be going there regularly when I move there for college a few months later… So mostly I’d like to read the missal and get used to it on my own time.

I am pretty certain there is a post if you do a search that discusses the pros and cons of various missals.

Another reason I really like the Father Lasance version is the introduction is an outstanding reference to explaining the sacrifice of the mass, how the missal is arranged, the prayers, the vestments and altar, and how to set the ribbons and where to write yourself little notes among other things. In the back is a guide to the ecclisiastical year and the saints as well as many prayers. That information would give you a wealth of information to read and will help you understand the mass more also.

If there is enough interest in the EF in that parish, perhaps there could be some volunteers who might be able to print all these propers off and include it as part of the bulletin? Very few attendees actually bring their own missals.

Haha, my home parish would never go anywhere near Latin (unfortunately ) I’m visiting somewhere else.
