Hello everyone
My family and I are looking for a new church. We prefer the traditional churches, English mass and Spanish choir/music. We truly enjoy hearing the Spanish music and do not enjoy the organ/english music. Do you know of any on the NE side of town?

Thank you!

We moved from NE San Antonio around 1 year ago. I’m not sure of specifics as far as having Spanish music with an English Mass, but you might look into Our Lady of Guadalupe in Helotes, St Matthew on Wurzbach near Vance Jackson, or the Dominican Friars’ parish of St. Ann closer to downtown. San Fernando also offers a bilingual Mass every week, but that is downtown.

while im sure everything there is legit, i would reccomend against st matthews on wurzbach if you like things traditional. my in laws live 2 minutes from there, and i drive from 1 to 4 hrs to get to mass when we stay with them. just my personal opinion that i dont like it or the people there, at least as far as ā€˜at mass’ goes. like i said i’m sure it is a perfectly valid mass, but it just doesnt seem like church to me.

You’ll have to drive to the other side of San Antonio, but try St. Leonard on Zarzamora. It is very much a ā€œbest of both worldsā€ parish, and the staff is considerate.
