I’m looking for good, sound information on “Bayside”. My understanding is that the local bishop has given a negative opinion on this alleged apparition, but I would like to get as much credible information as possible.

Thank you.

Actually I think this falls under the “Banned Topics” in the Forums Rules, thus:
**
Promoting unapproved apparitions** and revelations (those not approved by the Church for private or public devotion) or alleged private locutions.

Even though you say you understand the bishop has not approved it, simply asking for information is going to lead to posts which very likely WILL promote it (by saying it is all right).

I’d suggest that you check it out off-line with your priest or else contact your local diocese for information.

To be clear, I’m absolutely not interested in promoting it - there’s a woman at our parish (actually she roams a few parishes) who has been pushing it, distributing literature, etc. Our diocese seems to know nothing about it. And I’m trying to find information to help my priest and also to send to the diocese.

But I found a few old threads here with links to helpful information. So I’m all set.

Here they are for anyone who may be looking as well:

Thank you anyway.

Poor Vernonica Leukens was clearly suffering from spiritual delusions. I sincerely pray that God has mercy on her since she has passed from this life.

Among her many false prophecies was claiming that the entity she called “Jesus” appeared to her, saying that the Church was wrong in inventing “what you call deacons.”

As a matter of fact, the NT says more about deacons than it does about priests.

This is sufficient to see that she was deluded.

Moderators, please don’t ban me. This is the only great Catholic Forum I have.
I went to Bayside many years ago - before Veronica died (I didn’t know she had until I read it here now). I was on both sides of the fence opinion-wise.

But my biggest problem was that despite her good intentions, upon seeing a particular vision, Veronica once “quoted” Our Lady as saying that the “vision” looked like our Ballantine Beer rings. I couldn’t imagine the Blessed Mother - who spoke of the “Immaculate Conception” (a term unknown to youngster, St. Bernadette) - now speaking to an adult in such earthly terms. Stick to Lourdes and Fatima and pray.

Please, Moderators, don’t ban me - it’s just a personal observation.
