Does anyone know of a conservative Novo Ordo Mass in Miami, Florida?
I moved from Kansas City & have attended Our Lady of Good Council (in case anyone is familiar with this parish)
Here’s what I’m used to:
Gregorian chant responses in Latin
Eucharistic Prayer I & strict adherence to the GIRM
Pater Noster (Our Father in Latin)
Only sacred music during mass- in English & Latin (we used the Adoremus Hymnal)
An organ- no tambourines, electric guitars, or drums/cymbals
A choir that still uses the choir loft & doesn’t detract from the TRUE main event which occurs on the altar.
Women & men dressing modestly/ mantillas welcome but optional
Genuflection before receiving communion or receiving on one’s knees welcomed
Recitation of the St. Michael Prayer at the end of Mass
Most importantly- a reverent atmosphere that centers around what is taking place on the altar…
I know its impossible to duplicate my home parish, but I find it hard to believe that there aren’t people out there who appreciate the same things. If anyone can suggest a parish, I would greatly appreciate it. I will drive as far as I have to for a conservative Mass- distance/time is no issue.
