Well, regardless of what any local, state, federal, international or intergalactic law states, marriage is between a man and a woman, period. Man-made law just doesn’t have anything to do with it and it’s completely irrelevant. If God recognizes a marriage, then he recognizes it regardless of what any law states. A law that defines marriage as between a man and a woman doesn’t make that any more true than it is already. I don’t need a law to affirm that for me; I already know it’s a fact. Neither does a law that recognizes homosexual marriage make that legitimate.
The first poster made a comment about “don’t give homosexuals the right to sin”. Well, they never have had a right to sin, they don’t have that right now, and they never will have the right to sin regardless of what any new law does or does not state about marriage. The sin is still a sin, and such marriages are still illegitimate. If Congress passed a law tomorrow that stated that “the sky is purple with pink polka dots”, “drinking bleach is good for you”, or “the Bible was written by a talking dog”, it wouldn’t make these things true, either. I don’t recognize any governmental definition of marriage, whatever that definition is, as having any significance or credibility whatsoever.
