I’m trying to think of a particular verse but it just won’t come to me. It was something Jesus said about how the enemy cannot harm your soul or nobody can force you to sin or something. A bit like “do not fear him who can kill your body but cannot kill your soul”, but not that.

Thanks!

Matthew 10:28
“And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.”

Thanks, sorry I might have explained it badly - it is a bit like that verse in its meaning but not that particular verse!

Is it 1 John 5 18?

18 We know that those who are born of God do not sin, but the one who was born of God protects them, and the evil one does not touch them. 19 We know that we are God’s children, and that the whole world lies under the power of the evil one. 20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Okay, let’s cast the net a bit wider…
The seventy[-two] returned rejoicing, and said, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name.” Jesus said, “I have observed Satan fall like lightning from the sky. Behold, I have given you the power ‘to tread upon serpents’ and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Thank you, yes it was actually one line before that, Luke 12:4! Actually the same as the Matthew verse but slightly different. Thanks everyone for your help! 😁
