Seeking God’s will
Our God, You see me anxious about discerning the right course, and then my subsequent doubts. I fear that if I misconstrue Your will, someone may be denied what You would delight to give through me. Bless them, supplying what my selfishness or confusion denies them.
I trust that whatever good I honestly attempt will be guided and transformed by You, regardless of my obvious failures. Perhaps when I die, I may discover that my present life hides the overflowing richness of Your love embracing others through my efforts and prayers.
Accept my gift of myself to You. Temper my faith and faithfulness in Your love within the events of my life. Burn away my sinfulness and apathy through daily responsibility and prayer. Heal my confusion and stress. Let everything for which You created me, be completely fulfilled. Worship and delight Yourself in my life.
Indwelling Spirit
Holy Spirit, I trust in Your love to give me confidence that You live in me because I am created in God’s image, and because of Your love for me. These truths are proclaimed in the Gospels and in Church teachings, but I would not otherwise suspect them.
Although I try to be good and kind, sometimes I am weary, absorbed by my activities or embroiled by others’ troubles. I try to love faithfully but my doubts obscure my vision of the God’s Spirit of love and goodness in me. Holy Spirit, make me confident of Your presence in me so that I live in greater fidelity to Your creative love.
Following Christ
Heavenly Father, please nurture me as a true disciple of Jesus so that I seek only to serve and to share my life for others, as daily I live my responsibilities and creative inspirations, following Jesus in trust, humility, purity of heart, and freedom of spirit.
Please centre me in Your love so that I desire Your will in everything, thus my thoughts and attitudes, words and acts, transformed by You, shall give You glory, serving charity, justice and peace for those I pray for or encounter.
By this means, my spiritual and material endowments shall be shared fraternally, again and again with others. Then You may look on me and find no fault in me, but rejoice in Your dearly loved child, formed in image of Jesus. With trust, I make this prayer in His name
