Hi,

My husband and I have been married for almost 5 yrs and have tried to have children and it didn’t work out. I really want to adopt and my husband won’t, He now says he is too old. I have been praying for a year that he would be open to adoption. I have said a rosary daily for almost a year. I cry about this every day. I cannot imagine my life without a child. I can’t believe he would deny me the chance to be a mother. I don’t know what to do. I have now given up praying. I don’t want to divorce but cannot live with this pain any longer. Please pray for me, I don’t have the strength to even pray at this point. I feel that God has turned his back on me.
I am so angry at my husband . I scream into my pillow every day.
help!!!
Mary

Dear Mary, I ask God to help you and your husband with this very difficult problem. I ask God to help your husband to face his fears, and to be honest with himself about what his problems with adopting a child really are. I ask God to help him to overcome them. Help him to consider seriously issues of love.

Dear Jesus, please help Mary find peace. Please let her know how she can fulful her maternal desires. Assure her that You cannot interfere with anyone’s free will, so it is not that You have turned away from her. Mother Mary please intercede for this couple.

Mary, :hug1:

Praying for you and your husband, Mary.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

(Too old??? I’m glad my father didn’t think that way, I was born when he was 46, in my middle 30’s when he died, and he was the most loving, patient, kind man I have ever known. He taught me so much about my faith and I will be forever grateful for the gift of life, and for the best Father in the world!) I asked Jesus, last Sunday, on Father’s Day to say Happy Father’s Day to him for me.

I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. Don’t give up on a marriage!!! God has a plan.

Praying for you. I also have a tidbit that may be hard to hear right now, but here goes: when you pray hard for something and God says doesn’t grant it, that may be because He’s trying to shield you from greater pain down the road…

Mary, I have been married for 13 and have no children either. We tried adopting years ago and in the middle of the process I became sick and had to let it it all go, so that I could heal. From childhood I always wanted to be a wife and a mom, that is it. I had no other dreams of careers, etc., just to be a wife and a mom. But it was not the Lords’ will for me, so when I realized this, I surrendered to the Lords’ will for “US”. One has to remember why we married and what we promised at the altar. We marry for love towards one another, and we promise to stay together through the good and the bad. Today I look at my family and friends and all the pains and heartaches they are going through with their children and I thank the Lord for all the peace and tranquility we have. Having children does not guarantee happiness, neither does it guarantee that they will love you back as adults. My family runs a nursing home and it is sad to see sooo many weekends go by and many seniors do not get visits from their kids for months or ever. Be joyous with what the Lord has given you, love the Lord your God first and more than anything or anyone else. Love your marriage and your husband, it is a gift from the Lord just to be married and having that person there to share so many beautiful moments. Step outside of yourself and look at all the miseries other people are living in other countries and now here in the US, and these people still smile, still have faith. One cannot miss what one has never had, count the blessings that you do have and live in joy. All the free time that you do have, maybe you can voulenteer the time to a hospital for children with cancer or moms and dads with cancer, and your pains will go away, because your heart will be so filled with charity and love. You are really needed out here to mother in many other ways. I have mothered cancer patients and it is an amazing experience. God bless you and guide you. One can mother in more ways than one, always remember that 🙂 . You are needed for the Lords’ extraordinary work!
