Help with Cleaning Church brass items

Anyone here help their parish by cleaning linens, monstrances, candle holders, etc?

Our parish is seeking people to help clean ours…they’re badly tarnished. Some will need replating, most just need a good dipping of some sort.

Do you know of any good non-toxic products to restore the shine back without damaging the item?

What do other parishes use?

We use an item called brasso at our church but I have no idea what it will do to your brass. Sorry.

Brasso will leave a nice shine but it does take a bit of the metal with it. Engravings and etchings would become less defined.
