Like he said, y’all can’t seem to figure the “hot drinks” out. Some say it’s the caffeine, but if you are honest, it’s not about that at all. (Even you said that people are drinking decaf.) Unfortunately, that “drinking of decaf” doesn’t make coffee or tea (herbal, which has no caffeine or decaffeinated) acceptable. It is still unacceptable. (Even when new medical studies show that drinking even caffeinated coffee and/or tea is beneficial!) BTW, chocolate has caffeine, but as far as I can see, y’all don’t turn down hot chocolate. Haven’t figured that out.Ihave noticed that many people are drinking decaf these days.
Perhaps, if “Christian” is defined the way you want to, they are not.First of all, I think you mean Pope John XXIII? He was Pope for 5 years.
The funniest thing is that you attempt to point facts from some goofy ATHIEST site. LOL.
But I digress. We’ve had 2,000 years of unbroken succession of Popes. You might find someone who was not perfect along the way. None of us are perfect human beings.
The trouble with your argument (the glaring inadequacy) is that the Pope didn’t found his own religion; God founded the Catholic Church; the Popes just carry it forward, and will continue to carry it forward until the end of Time.
Joe Smith DID create his own religion - about 1, 840 years after God created the one true Church.
Joe Smith and his church leaders were about as much as prophet as Jim Baker was.
Clown boys - all of 'em.
But thats’ OK. Who cares what their girations are in the ‘religious’ world, one thing for certain is that they are not “Christian”.
why me has brought up his anti-Catholic view many times. Many times it has been pointed out to him that as bad as a bad pope may be, NONE preached their mortal sins as divine revelation for the entire Church to practice. He wants to live blind, you are wasting your time.First of all, I think you mean Pope John XXIII? He was Pope for 5 years.

D, mormons are not “Christian”. They are not even close. The do not follow the same Jesus Christ of the Bible and they do not follow Christine Docrtine. Just one quick example - Jesus was born by miraculous birth by the Virgin Mary. Mormons however believe God impregnated Mary by the usual means.Perhaps, if “Christian” is defined the way you want to, they are not.
They are, however, Christ’s .
Are you?
Your good friend brought up Bring’em Young, as he named him. I just brought up Pope John XIII. That’s all. Of course we can also bring up Pope Benedict VI who was John XIII successor. He was the illegitimate son of a monk. And to my understanding, when he was pope, many French, English, and Spanish ladies were suduced and stayed on as prostitutes. Pope Benedict was strangled for his wickedness.why me has brought up his anti-Catholic view many times. Many times it has been pointed out to him that as bad as a bad pope may be, NONE preached their mortal sins as divine revelation for the entire Church to practice. why me, please read my post again (#641). Thank you.Your good friend brought up Bring’em Young, as he named him. I just brought up Pope John XIII. That’s all. I really don’t like these types of games that we are playing but you really must reign in your friend, Lawrence. He is insulting to say the least.
Who cares about their character? (and this is an internet forum, who knows if they’re actually Catholic, Mormon, etc). Is that why we’re here, to judge the character of others? Remember, you don’t have to post if you don’t like it here, and you can report someone if you think they need to be reported (as can the Mormon posters. If the Catholics would report a Mormon for saying something, the Mormons can report Catholics as well). You don’t have to tell other people what to do in reference to other posters. Do what you think you need to do. If someone else doesn’t feel it’s necessary to admonish someone, whatever. And really, the constant discussion of what the Catholics are and aren’t doing and saying (which seems to happen in every thread you post in) on a thread is also “hijacking”.
No, I did mean Pope John XIII. Check him out and his successor Benedict VI. We also have Pope John XII who also had a problem with women and men. He was bisexual.First of all, I think you mean Pope John XXIII? He was Pope for 5 years.
But thats’ OK. Who cares what their girations are in the ‘religious’ world? I don’t care if they want to pray to Joseppi Smith or to a Twinkie. The beef is that they have the unmitigated gall to call themselves “Christian”; yet one thing for certain is that they are not “Christian”.
You’re behaving just like the person that you are attempting to admonish, then claiming that you “don’t want to do it”, as if he’s forcing you to bring up Catholic Popes and their behavior. I’m hoping the mods close down this thread as I’ve already reported it.No, I did mean Pope John XIII. Check him out and his successor Benedict VI. We also have Pope John XII who also had a problem with women and men. He was bisexual.
Now I have said it before. No church is perfect because a church is made up of people. But the 10 century was a crazy time for the catholic church. I would leave Bring’em Young, as stlawrence called him out of it, for sure.
Got any reliable sources for any of this?He was the illegitimate son of a monk. And to my understanding, when he was pope, many French, English, and Spanish ladies were suduced and stayed on as prostitutes. Pope Benedict was strangled for his wickedness.

Your friend Stlawrence is just plain rude and disrespectful in his posts. And that is fine. But at times, the catholics on this section of the mormon threads seem to have a holier than thou attitude and I really think that it is unbecoming of a catholic. And really, the constant discussion of what the Catholics are and aren’t doing and saying (which seems to happen in every thread you post in) on a thread is also “hijacking”.
We are talking about Gods church and the lds occult! the members may not be holier thn thou but the catholic church itself is because it is from Christ and the LDS church is from an false prophet. Simple as that!Your friend Stlawrence is just plain rude and disrespectful in his posts. And that is fine. I am bringing up catholic problems in answer to the more bashing posts of Paul’s and Stlawrence’s. I would rather not do it. But hey, if catholics wish to take a holier than thou attitude I will need to bring them down a little. Now you want debate and discussion. But some posts calling Brigham Young ‘Bring’em Young’ is not the way to do it. And you know that. Reign such posters in and maybe there can be debate and discussion. But give them a free ride and their posts must be met head on. And no better way then to discuss past catholic popes since some catholics wish to discuss past mormon leaders with mocking and disdain.
–Thanks Rebecca.why me has brought up his anti-Catholic view many times. Many times it has been pointed out to him that as bad as a bad pope may be, NONE preached their mortal sins as divine revelation for the entire Church to practice. He wants to live blind, you are wasting your time.
Sure. It is in the book called: Sex Lives of the Popes, written by Nigel Cawthorne. Published by Prion in Great Britain 1996 and reprinted in 1997.Got any reliable sources for any of this?
I’m sure we would all like to read what you have, so we can see where your understanding(if it can be called that) comes from.
You get an A+.We are talking about Gods church and the lds occult! the members may not be holier thn thou but the catholic church itself is because it is from Christ and the LDS church is from an false prophet. Simple as that!
Perhaps I can agree except with the oocult part but certain posters are not acting like they are members of Christ’s church. And that is my point. We are talking about Gods church and the lds occult! the members may not be holier thn thou but the catholic church itself is because it is from Christ and the LDS church is from an false prophet. It being an occult is a fact not an opinion. Please look up the definition of an occult and also what disqualifies a group from being christian.Perhaps I can agree except with the oocult part but certain posters are not acting like they are members of Christ’s church. And that is my point.
**Why not? **Perhaps I can agree except with the oocult part but certain posters are not acting like they are members of Christ’s church. And that is my point.
