Help With Divine Mercy Chaplet

Shalom, shalom, guys.

Hey, can anyone help me with getting this down? I know, I know, as a new, wanna-be Catholic I’m totally hopeless … but I’ll get it down … eventually.

Here’s what I’ve got for it so far, I think:

*Optional Opening Prayer:

“You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heat of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust You!”*

1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross, 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and The Apostles Creed.
2. Then on the Our Father Beads say the following:

“Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.”

1. On the 10 Hail Mary Beads say the following:

“For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

(Repeat step 2 and 3 for all five decades).

1. Conclude with (three times):
   “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

*Optional closing prayer:

“Eternal God, in Whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.”*

Okay. Just an easy question right now: Where, first off, am I supposed to say the optional prayers? Also, on what beads do I say the things in Step One?

I usually don’t say the optional prayers because I don’t know them. But say them either before everythign else, for the opening prayer, and after everytrhing for the closing prayer.

Make the sign of the cross with the cross, then on the three hail mary beads, say the first three prayers. Skip the first Our Father bead.

I usually use …according to your numbering, I use:

1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross, 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and The Apostles Creed.

1. Then on the Our Father Beads say the following:

and then:

I don’t know about the optional one, but for any optional prayers, you can pray before or after the above prayers - it doesn’t matter in my opinion.

I set my cell phone alarm at 3:00pm and pray the Divine Mercy everyday.
