Help with family life

A member of my family gave me 20 euro for doing well in my mock exam and said she is proud of me pride is a sin so what should I do
 
Pride being a sin is really more about looking inward to yourself for all of your accomplishments, and not giving credit to God, who really is who blessed you with the talents, to begin with to accomplish whatever it is, you accomplished. I don’t see anything wrong with someone giving you money, in the family, to congratulate you on your accomplishment…so as long as you yourself know that you can do nothing good apart from God, that is the key. For example, if I started becoming arrogant and overly confident in my own efforts at work, just thinking it’s all about me, that is truly what pride is about. Accepting a pat on the back from a family member is not pride, though. If you start turning inward and think that you are responsible for all of your accomplishments, and not God…that is pride.

Just my two cents. Kudos to you on your achievement, by the way.🙂
 
You’re welcome. God gave us free wills, as you know…so to use them for the good of accomplishing things on His earth is a good thing. Always remember that.👍

You know Jake, it’s GREAT that you have a well formed conscience, it will help you much in life. Just be mindful to not become overly ‘scrupulous’ that you run the risk of feeling guilty for everything that you might be thinking, doing, etc…

I used to be overly scrupulous, it is something I have had to keep in check, myself. Let’s pray for one another that we keep our consciences healthy, and be careful of obsessing! God bless.🙂
 
I am also worried about alcohol as I took the pledge I’m worried about stuff that may contain alcohol like glycerol and sugar alcohol
