revelations said: “His teachings are that this behavior is disordered, and sinful.”

I merely pointed out that this is 100% untrue. Jesus never taught such a thing.
You mention romans 1:27: Paul claims that the natural use of women is for the sexual pleasure of men.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Paul claims that not only will gays not “inherit” the kingdom, but also the “effeminate” and thieves. Paul claims that there is something so wrong with being effeminate that ultimate punishment will be meted out by a god. And don’t forget that the thieves on either side of Jesus on execution day were promised heaven, by Jesus himself!! Oh my gosh, is it possible that there are inconsistencies? Was the bible perhaps written by fallible men?

1Tim 1:9-10 actually refers to male prostitutes.

I do thank you for pointing me to the Catholic concept of “Fraternal Correction”. I will bring this up whenever I encounter a “Catholic” who wants to use the guns of government to persuade.

Where in the bible is there any positive verses on persecuting people? Don’t you understand that you rhetoric against gay people is hateful and childish?
How is it hateful? I have no rhetoric against SSA. I have no rhetoric against chaste homosexuals. I respect their self mastery.

That is about the only thing the tolerant examples can say - hateful, bigots and homophobes. And if you must know - I do really hate sin and evil. Really, really hate it.

My husband and I work/ go to school at a state university. I understand why the Church views homosexuality as wrong, and I’m working hard to live that belief in my everyday life. I don’t. however, believe that sexuality is a choice. I think it’s something you’re born with.
However, before I came back to the Church, I had a LOT of gay friends. My sister is gay. In the environment I work in right now, “announcing” that I think gay marriage is wrong, etc, would seriously impact my job (most likely) and jeopardize just about every friendship I have. To most people I know, saying that you don’t believe in gay marriage would be the equivalent of saying you hate an entire race.
Moreover, my church used to be known as the “gay friendly parish”. We’ve gotten a new priest, but we still have a large homosexual population - including a friend of mine who lives with his boyfriend.
I don’t know what to say when people talk about gay rights. I don’t know how to deal with gay friends talking about their boyfriends, etc. In fact, I’m even scared to ask this question because I’m worried people will tell me to flat-out inform them they are living in sin. I love my friends, and I know that my telling them this would only make them feel betrayed and hurt - they aren’t going to go out and change.
I also have a friend who is working as a phone sex operator; all of my friends (the non-Catholic ones) believe in abortion … I’m a liberal. I don’t know what to say to them - especially since these were all people I knew before I returned to the Church.
How do I deal with these situations? How am I called to act? I try now just to love and not judge people. Is this okay?
You cannot have a new life (return to the Church) and yet look back at your old life (outside of the Church). If your friends are unwilling to accept your beliefs, than so be it. You cannot not tell they are living in sin - you are doing a diservice to them, you are basically lying to them about sin, rather than living in Christ, which you are called to do as a Christian. If you lose friends and job because of Christ, than accept it as a cross - however hard - and trust in God to give you what you need in life. He knows what you need even before you ask it of him, so trust in him. Live in the Lord Jesus Christ. But so long as you are Christian, continue to preach the gospel by good example - and if necessary, use words.

Can you not see the mote in your own eye? You say you “respect their self mastery”. You speak like a vicious weasel. If people are enjoying each other with great big smiles on their faces, do you look down upon them? Are you some kind of god who gets to judge others? Explain why you think there is something wrong with homosexuality. And don’t just quote religious dogma. Explain it. What makes you so superior?

I can only tell you my own experience. My gay friends know that I’m Catholic and they know that I do not have a partner nor do I engage in homosexual activity becuase of my faith. I’ve told them that, and they’re ok with it. They know that my faith is important to me. We’ve discussed Church teaching and what the reasoning is behind it. After that, I’ve left it to God. They have the knowledge, I’ve shared my faith and they see my example. I don’t preach to them and I don’t cut them off either if they don’t choose to follow the path I’m on. My feeling is that by not turning my back on them because they are not Catholic keeps the door open. I’m sure there are many here who believe I should shun them, but I don’t believe that is following the teaching of Jesus to love one another.

And that is how it should be. So I glean from this that you are for legal gay marriage.

Yes. Sacred marriage is the domain of the Church and the Churches get to decide according to their rules. Civil marriage is the domain of the state and the state gets to decide according to their rules.

I guess I would have a problem with two humans murdering each other with great big smiles. If a pedophile and an innocent child (under his evil influence) have smiles I would have an issue.

Don’t pull the judgement card on me. I can judge behaviors for what they are. I can call someone who murders a murderer. I can call someone who steals a thief. I can call their behavior deviant. What I cannot judge is their salvation. You need to get the difference straight.

Through natural law (no I don’t need to be a god) I can know what is right and what is wrong. Together with natural law and Divine Law (which I did not author) I can conclude the homosexual act is both and sin and deviant.

Don’t act like I am unique. The majority of the people understood this since the very beginning. The propaganda over the last 40 years has numbed us as to right and wrong.

Pick up the bible. Read from beginning to end. Jesus never says anything about homosexuality. Period.
Your argument is limited to what Scripture says. Were you there to hear everything He did. St John says what Jesus had done and said could not be fully written.

You cannot prove He did not speak about it. You cannot prove the Holy Spirit at Pentecost didn’t enlighten the Apostle’s on this subject.
