I have a copy of Christian Prayer, so I can help you (including page numbers). Also, it sounds like you just started. Using the LotH actually becomes easier with practice. However, I can give you a few pointers:
  1. Be mindful of where we are in the liturgical year. These days, calendars distributed through parishes often give what week and season is being celebrated. This can also be announced at the beginning of Sunday Mass. For example, “today we are celebrating the second Sunday of Advent.”
  2. Take a look at the calendar on page 28. Especially if you can’t find a wall calendar with Liturgical days on it, copy the days on p. 28 onto a regular calendar. After this, copy the days on the list of holidays detailed on p. 31. Solemnities and Feasts are required in order to claim you are saying the LotH. For Memorials, I’ve gotten conflicting answers.
  3. The Psalter (starts on p. 549) works on a four week cycle. There is a note on which week to use in the Prayers for Sundays(ie. see p. 500, 9th Sunday OT uses week 1). To the right there is a note on which week to use in the Psalter. If you are diligent on using the prayer, you won’t need that.
I hope this helps.

Use an online guide for the Office. Another possible option is to use your diocese’s Ordo. This would be better than the guide as it would tell what should be happening in your diocese. Many dioceses have their Ordo online. You could check if yours has.
