I will mention the personal invitation idea. You are right, when people just mentioned church groups to me generally I would never go. But, my sponsor invited me to one and I went. That ministry was not right for me, but I still met new people.
Also, good news! My deacon has called a team meeting so that we can further discuss some of these ideas. I think he was just having a rough day when I mentioned it to him. Hopefully we can at least try some things.
Thanks!

Mystagogy is an opportunity to support each other in applying the mysteries of the faith to our lives. Discussing topics can be reinforcing and enlightening, but I suggest the group includes faith-sharing on the Sunday gospel before discussing a particular topic.

We have had our first candidate make his confirmation on the Feast of the Holy Family. It was a beautiful ceremony and he was absolutely thrilled to be part of our community. We have walked with him along his journey and have acquainted him with all of the aspects of the church. As for mystagogy, we are meeting with him once a month purely on a social basis for coffee and donuts after Mass. If there are questions he has he brings them up then, but he is on fire and is making strides at becoming a real integral part of our Church family. I think you have to let them know what is out there, but you don’t have to hold their hands I don’t believe. There comes a point when they have to show their commitment and sincerity and now is the time for them to show their true colors! Good luck! 👍
