Help! With question about Vatican City

Hi. I have a question. Excuse me for my ignorance on the subject. Is it true there is a door you can walk through in Vatican City that when you walk through all of your sins are forgiven?

This was told to me, and I never heard of it?
 
Hmm… perhaps the door to the Confessional? 😃

I was just being smart. I have no idea and have never heard that. But now I’m interested in knowing too!

Keep in mind that just walking through the door would in NO WAY remove one’s sins… there are other conditions that must be met for a plenary indulgence, one of them being CONFESSION, and the accompanying penance. When all of these items are completed, along with several other requirements, the plenary indulgence removes ALL stain of sin from one’s soul, so that one will not have to spend time in Purgatory. Without the indulgence, one would STILL go to heaven, but might have to spend a bit of time in Purgatory.
 
And to make sure its clarified only the sin prior to gaining the plenary indulgence would be removed.
If you have questions on indulgences im sure there are threads here clarifying it. Its my understanding that an indulgence is the removal of temporal punishment for sins that have already been forgiven by God.

Im not an authority on indulgences, and its one of the few areas ive not looked at closely so id go looking for confirmation before taking what i say as church dogma.
