Does anyone have the text of a prayer to Rafael? Bless all that I meet today, guide me with your light in these meetings, along those lines? He is the Patron of Happy Meetings and there is supposed to be a prayer that Flannery O’Connor had mentioned in one of her books. Does anyone have the text? Thanks.

Last week I bought a book of stories of Miss Flannery O’Connor. I will check. I am determined to read her this winter. Have you read her?

Prayer to Saint Raphael

O Raphael, lead us toward those we are waiting for, those who are waiting for us: Raphael, Angel of happy meeting, lead us by the hand toward those we are looking for. May all our movements be guided by your Light and transfigured with your joy.
Angel, guide of Tobias, lay the request we now address to you at the feet of Him on whole unveiled Face you are privileged to gaze. Lonely and tired, crush by the separations and sorrows of life, we feel the need of calling you and of pleading for the protection of your wings, so that we may not be as strangers in the province of joy, all ignorant of the concerns of our country. Remember the weak, you who are strong, you whose home lies beyond the region of thunder, in a land that is always peaceful, always serene and bright with the resplendent glory of God. Flannery O’Connor quotes this prayer, which she attributes to Ernest Hello, in a letter dated 14 July 1964, less than a month before her death.

Dear MJE, Thank you so much, what a lovely prayer! I will add it to my daily prayers. Godspeed!

I have an amazing story for you. It took place last Tuesday. I have been praying for a person under influence of evil for about 2 months. That person is OK. That’s why I pray for him. I asked God( by opening Bible-random) several times what I was to do to let him know that evil is around him. Every time I opened it I came across a story of Tobit and a fish. Than I said: OK, how can I carry a stale fish around town and loughed. However, I received a phone call on Tuesday evening to join him for a drink. I didn’t really mean to open the topic about him being haunted because he doesn’t believe in such things at all. At one moment there was an intense smell of fish around us, and he was first to notice it. Then I smelled the fish (stale, uncooked), too and then he started talking about ghosts and demons. At least he is now thinking about it. I remembered that smell when I got home and smiled. There was no way to smell fish at that spot downtown. God has ways to help every time we ask him fervently. May Rafael enlighten your paths. Fairy
