Today I noticed that I had some immoral pictures on my computer from about a year ago when I was not a good catholic. I saw them and thought, I have to delete these. So I did and while trying to cover the screen I caught a glimpse of it and felt a bad sensation like something was trying to pull me back under, like an aroused feeling.

Was it right that did this or where these sinful. I should say I am very scrupulous

Don’t sweat it - God created us with an awful lot of thoughts and feelings, and we’re not in perfect control of all of them all the time. Nor can we possibly be in complete control of what we see. Neither, as much as it sucks, are we always in complete control of our bodily reactions such as arousal either.

As long as you did get rid of the pictures and caught only a glimpse, as you say, you did all that was humanly possible in your situation.

Are you a male? Be assured you did the right thing in deleting them. And just a glimpse isn’t all that bad. Only if you dwell on the image intself for an extended amount of time.

I was listening to Catholic Radio yesterday, and they were discussing the Male Sex drive. Unfortunately a lot of males tend to be ashamed of our Male drives, mostly because we haven’t been appropirately taught on the matter.

I also tend to get a little confused about these matters, since I wasn’t trained all that well myself.

So I go to confession to get things cleared up, whenever an unexpected image crosses my desk.

You did very well to delete those pictures. Mention that you saw an immoral picture at your next confession, and you will receive the graces of the sacrament.
