Don’t think it is friend.

But, if you want to shave “up there” don’t sign up with the JW’s. They have a thing with men and beards in the US.

I am sorry so many of you believers are so troubled by such things to have to ask this kind of question. I hope you find peace.
 
Don’t know why you’d want to. What can be achieved by that, and no I don’t want to know.
Ask any girl who shaves her legs…it can be itchy as the hairs grow back.
I think perhaps you are quite young, and perhaps over-concerned with physiology?
I think our main concern is practical charity to others. Jesus says so.
It might be more helpful to you to spend more time out of your room giving practical help and support to others, or maybe pursuing some healthy activity?

This is the second thread in which you have asked this question. If you wish to know the Church’s teaching on chastity, *which makes no mention of shaving, it not being something of necessity unless surgery is intended * you may find it helpful to read what the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches regarding the sixth commandment, if this is what is worrying you. If you have some other reason to be concerned then as you mentioned you are fourteen, would you consider asking your parent’s advice? It does seem a puzzling sort of question, and if there is a psychological reason perhaps you may need your parents to know you may need some help.

No Phil, it’s not intrinsically a sin, just seems a bit puzzling and unnecessary…however, I don’t want to know why! It’s only a sin if you are intending to do so with the intention of sin, or to repeat it if you know it causes you to sin. It’s just a bit too much preoccupation with self and I hope you can find more useful and productive things to do with your time and thought.

I’ve been wondering about this “fashion” for quite a while now so I’m sort of glad the topic came up. This whole idea of actually got it’s start in the porn industry. Usually it was accompanied by the young looking woman, preferably with small breasts, putting her hair in pigtails and perhaps surrounded by stuffed animals in a bed in colorfully decorated bedroom. If you don’t believe me, carefully look it up!

People who do this (shave completely bare) are actually without realizing it, “aping” those (pornographers) who cater to the fantasy of having sex with a child.

This is very unnatural, unattractive and considering the origin of the idea, just disgusting. From a christian perspective it’s very likely sinful because it can cultivate an evil fantasy level taste for prepubescent girls (or boys). But that’s just my opinion.

Depends on the reason.

If it is for a lustful reason, or so you can be immodest, no.

If it is for comfort or cleanliness, yes.
 
This issue is no more morally charged than getting a haircut, or removing facial or body hair by your favorite method. All of these behaviors are intended to improve our appearance in light of current societal norms. No moral or ethical issue whatsoever, despite the fact that we are talking about grooming a private area of the body. The current fashion seems to extend grooming the “bikini line” to the rest of the area. So what?
