i have recently commented alot of sins and I prayed to God for the forgiveness of my sins(for i have no way to any confession) but yet i jsut dont feel as close now how do i get close to God again 😦

Is there really no way you can attend confession?
What are the circumstances that mean you can’t attend confession?
I ask because often we don’t see all the possibilities.

if you cant get to confession, look in your phone book and phone the nearest parish and arrange for a priest to come to your home for confession at a time that is suitable for you, the priest wont mind, they make home visits anyway

Make a good Act of Contrition and try to make it to confession as soon as you are able. I’ll keep you in my prayers.

my mother has forbidden me

Even though we have a duty to honour our parents, our duties to God come first.
Why did she forbid you? Is there any way you could have a discussion with her about it?
yea I’ve tried she just doesn’t want me being Catholic which i thank God for my mom’s pastor cause he is taking me to Mass some time after his vacation and could I have confession before a Mass service

Feelings are not important. You committed a sin that it is probably mortal, you are contrite about it, and so you should go to confession as soon as possible. Now you are telling me that your mother forbids you to do so and you have to obey her for now.

My suggestion is to do a few things for the moment. The first is to discuss with your mother about your next opportunity to go to confession, if she says in a fey days then you say thanks and wait with patience. If she is going to say you will never be allowed to go to confession then you wait for a moment when you have some privacy and get in touch with your priest and describe to him your family situation.

In the mean time this is a golden opportunity to reflect on what mortal sin is really about and why we want to avoid it. I think that a lot of us get more comfortable with our mortal sins because of the presumption on the prompt availability of confession. That it is not a good idea because it can turn very fast into presumption of automatic forgiveness.

God is giving you a challenge to do what is right and to do it in the right manner, under the right circumstances. Do not despair and try to reflect on His teachings on how you have to behave while getting ready for your next confession. This is a learning phase to get closer to God in different ways, hang in there and I will pray for you.

Hi, well the important thing is to try and go to Confession if you are able… if there is absolutely no way, then pray for perfect contrition and maybe pray the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows for greater repentance… maryimmaculate.tripod.com/dolours.html

say an act of contrition

if you don’t mind sharing, for which reasons are you unable to go to Confession?

are you able to go to Mass? if the sins you committed are mortal, you would need to confess them to a priest before receiving Communion.

Could you make an appointment with a priest for Confession?

God bless

Try looking up on the parish website what their usual confession times are: some will do confession before mass. If not, call the parish (or ask this pastor to if you are unable to) and explain the situation and ask if you could take it before mass. Then you will be able to take Communion at the mass - if you take Confession before the mass but have not been able to do your penance (e.g. if it is practical or a prayer you don’t know by heart) you can still take Communion as long as you do the penance as soon as you can.

Also know that you are in my prayers: it must be difficult with your mom’s opposition but keep strong!

oh that is very unfortunate 😦 if I were in your situation here is what I would do… do you have a cell phone or a way to talk on the phone without anyone hearing? I would phone a priest… or I would email him… or find another way to talk to a priest… and I would ask, what to do in the situation if your mom forbid you from going to Confession, but you really need Confession. It’s true that we need to honour our parents, but we need to put God first, - so the priest could put your mind at rest by telling you what is right in this situation. If he says you should go to Confession, then find a time to go. Just talk to a good knowledgeable priest. šŸ™‚ maybe also talk to your mom ? pray… whenever similar things come up for me at home I ask St Rita to pray for me, and she really helps, she’s the patron Saint of impossible situations šŸ™‚ prayer-and-prayers.info/saints-prayers/special-need-prayer-to-st-rita.htm

that is a good opportunity šŸ™‚ are you the only Catholic in your family? (if so, I am too)

I would email or call a priest up and describe your family situation. He will be able to help you decide what is the best thing to do in your senario.

Putting the issue with your mum aside, I would speak to a friend about it- its nice to have someone to talk to about issues. Is there an opportunity to talk to a school councellor or someone in a religious position? You could write a letter to your parish priest or archdiocese and monitor the mail so you can get to it before your mum does. Good luck

Yes, email a priest, and explain everything. He will be able to help you more than we do.
