I have always had a difficult time fasting during lent and this year I am determined to fast successfully. I checked the net for any Catholic websites that might be helpful and I found a goldmine.
:newidea:
This website gives lots of prayers and psychological helps for many penances we may be planning for the Lenten season. I am going to follow the weight reduction prayer page. Some of you may want to follow the smoking cesession page. There is even a page of prayers and meditations for Catholics with bi-polar problems.
I went to the www.chastitysf.com website and clicked on
Self help for faith and healing
When I got to the menu I chose the Clinical issues.
That’s where I found “weight reduction” It had some wonderful pep talks, meditations, and prayers that I will check out every day during lent. Maybe this lent I will succeed. Anyone want to join me? Let me know what you think

I especially like the looks of the relaxation exercises - I’ve been looking for something like them that is in tune with orthodox Catholic theology, this looks to be the goods. 👍

Boy, a lot of stuff on these pages. I’ve bookmarked them for when I can read them well. Thanks!

Some of you who are depressed would also find some wonderful Catholic hints on the website. I was reading about some poster’s crosses that they are carrying and noticed some of you are very depressed.
Please give the site a try.
click on : Self help for faith and healing
On that page you can chose the clinical issues that include depression, personality disorders, etc,
As Lily had commented…these suggestions “are in tune with orthodox teachings” .
And to respond to Brigid…Yes! this is a site to be bookmarked. It is a treasurechest of hints and activities.
