I have a sister who identifies as gay. My sister told us this two years ago. This year, my cousin (whom i love as if he were my brother) told me that he “is” gay. We don’t argue, but it has been made clear to him that I won’t support homosexual acts. He lives with us now, and soon he will move and live on his own in college. I don’t know what to do. I need to pray more, but i struggle to find time to pray the Rosary daily (which is no excuse)
I want to find away to teach him the Truth, rather than the lies the world throws at him. He is protestant, along with my family. The protestant church we grew/grow up in did not catechize or really prepare us for many of today’s challenges. At age 20, he saw a crucifix and he didn’t know the word Crucifixion referred to “when they killed Jesus.” He goes to a liberal college with a strong gay population. He has a significant number of gay friends and is thinking about dating soon.
He scarcely goes to his protestant church and he has the moral view of “let people do whatever they want as long as they don’t hurt you.”
I told my parish priest about the situation and he told me not to worry and just pray. He said it may not be the right time to talk, but I think if i don’t talk he’ll go down a long dark road. He is selfish and now he only thinks about money and other vain things.
I love him and my sister dearly and I am not willing to let satan take them from me. How can I teach him in the few months we still have left living under the same roof? Do you recommend any Fr. John Corapi or other videos?
