I would like to start this thread about the PCG. I am looking for someone who was a member and converted to become a Catholic christian.

All I know about the WWCG, begun, I believe, by Herbert W. Armstrong, I heard on the radio in the early '70’s.
His son, Garner Ted Armstrong had a radio program then that I would listen to as I washed dishes in the evening.
I once sent for a book from them that refuted The Shroud of Turin.
That was enough for me.

Bob Dukto of WMUZ is a former WWCG armstrong person.

The WWCG recently became christian by believing in the trinity.

I hope you find someone who can relate their experience mpzam. You are talking about a huge huge change. Holy days OT versus Holy Days RC…wow…that would be a big shift. Good luck!

The WCG believed that there is only two persons in God: The Father and the Son. They dont believe that the Holy Spirit is God but only the manifestation of love that the Father and Son have for each other.

Because of the WWCG move to a normal evangelical faith, I am not sure what tenets of Armstrong teachings Philadelphia or United Church of God maintained or possibly reverted back to.

The reason why i started this topic is because my sister became a member of WWC of God, after she became a born again. I knew about the splinter groups, read the history and about their founder. I read some of their magazines, some are quite controversial and i knew there is something heretic in it. I tried so much to convince her that her belief is distorted, and that their founder had made false prophesies. I’m hoping that one day EWTN will have a guest who was a WWC or PCG so i can purchase it and show it to my sister. I gave her a book “Where we got the bible” by Cardinal Newman, and she would deny it. I know i made so much effort, but that is not the be all and end all. It’s Gods will and prayers. Anyway, I am originally from the Philippines, and my family is a devout Catholic. I want her to come to our Church, especially her kids (who were actually baptized in the Church). Thanks for the replies and looking forward to some more informations. God bless you all and may you have a prosperous and glorious new years to come!

So is your sister in the Philadelphia church of God now?

I beleive so, since the WCG does believe in the trinity and my sister does not believe in the Holy Spirit as God, and the magazine that she is reading is from Mr Flurry, the founder of Philadelpia Church of God. I really pray that she will be enlightened. Thanks for your prayers.
