Woa, did you see the name of the lady who wrote “Rebirth of the Goddess” was named Carol Christ  --coincidence?

And that goddess Rosary

I did get a kick out of the thing about how their movement is in the spirit of Luther’s rebellion–Luther would not be a happy camper if he knew that. But of course, he should have known that heresy begets heresy…

Don’t know whether to laugh, cry or heave … or all three at once :bigyikes:

Mama Mary, pray for them and for us!

Being different for the sake of shock value… it’s just SO cliche! 😃

:bigyikes: :banghead: :rotfl: :hmmm: no words to describe what I am feeling…

This is so shocking I don’t know what to say. I think it is really OFFENSIVE> !!!:banghead:

I found it quite hilarious. At first i thought it was a satire sire. They pray the Goddess Rosary in an attempt to connect with the “Holy Other” . Not even a gifted satirist could make up stuff like that!

Nothing to see here, as I posted in the other HerChurch thread, this is just one religious community in San Francisco worshiping in their own way. They are not pushing other groups to change, live and let live time.

So we are not allowed to comment on them? If you dont wnat to discuss their off the wall faith(holy other???) then dont read the thread,

NewUlm - I don’t know what to say about you. You say that you’re catholic but you think pluralism is fine. And you think that homosexuality is okay. And I’m certain that you reject many other tenants of the catholic faith. I pray you’ll change.

:signofcross:Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who tresspass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.:signofcross:

AMEN

Can a church that “worships” a “goddess” even be considered Christian?

The greatest woman ever created is truly my model of what a Real Woman should be, and that would be our most Blessed Mother Mary.👍

This church is so far off the Christian Radar that its hard to believe they are serious at all.

^Fer sure. . . the graces poured out from Jesus through Mary are sweetly amazing! 👍

What a bunch of ---- when I heard the cymbal I didn’t know if it was fight night or not, and waiting for pastor whatever to go 15 rounds.:bigyikes:

Cosmic God ? ummm, more like cosmic god.

Anyway it’s new-agey, very pitiful, probably time to run for the hills.

Well, they clearly do not present themselves as Catholic, and the RCC still sees them as Christian (technically “imperfect” or whatever has been posted around here recently). The are some breakoff of the Lutherans, which that split goes way back to the Reformation and that is water long since over the dam.

I also read your employment threads and I hope and pray you can see the similarities and not differences in people.

This is what we get from radical feminists. May God help them…

You know, it all rather saddens me. I’ve been married to a woman (surprise, surprise) for almost 40 years; she’s been a mother for over 30 of them; she is the senior administration staffer at a university graduate school, and she never ceases to amaze me. Women are capable of some extraordinary things.

Then, there’s the ones who squander their femininity on nonsense like that, and end up as total wing nuts.

As I said, it rather saddens me.

Blessings,

Gerry

I’m unsure whether you’d call them Christians at all - I mean if they pray to “Christ-Sophia” and the “Goddess” they would hardly baptize in the “Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” would they? However I suppose that some of them could have been baptised into actual Christian denominations - and have just been so “dissatisfied” that they decided to embrace these heretical (and yes they are heretical) ideas. In any case, One cannot simply say that it is fine. That’s pluralistic.

I don’t think I"m looking for the differences in people but I think I’d have a hard time hiring someone that is openly living an immoral lifestyle.
