First of all, let me say a heartfelt “thank you” to the so many people who have kept us covered in prayer the last few months. So many times we’ve felt the strong spirit of support just at the moment when we were ready to give in to despair.
Here’s where we stand with the legal battle: We went to court again last week, spent a miserable morning in court, only to have the hearing suspended to the end of June.
I’ve been praying for guidance, but I’m seriously considering not attending any more hearings (unless legally mandated to do so). At this point, I don’t think there’s really anything more we can do. This case could continue for years, and we’re starting to really wear down. Additionally, it’s causing a problem at work. I’m relatively new at my job, and while they have to give me the court days off, I’ve had so many of them with no end in sight, that it may be time to seriously discern whether it’s best for me to take any more time off. My daughter and I have spent so much time praying in the quiet, alone evenings at the church that we’re probably wearing knee-holes into the kneelers. We’re FINALLY reaching a point where we want to just take care of ourselves and heal (however, I reserve the right to be on here at some point in the future begging for prayers again:)).
I don’t know how or when all of this will end, but I do know that right now I love the church more than ever before, and so much of the strength we feel right now is because of the intercession of people on CAF who we’ve never met, and probably won’t meet until Heaven. Thank you so much for the tremendous support - we appreciate you all so much. God bless!

Thanks for update Martha…

Continued prayers for you and your daughter…God Bless and take care of you both!

Praying with Bible verses from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Mid-morning reading (Terce) (Apocalypse 1:17-18) ©
I saw the Son of Man, and he said to me, ‘Have no fear! I am the First and the Last. I was dead and now I am to live for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of the underworld.’

Noon reading (Sext) Colossians 2:9,12 ©
In Christ lives the fullness of divinity, and in him you too find your own fulfilment. You have been buried with him, when you were baptised; and by baptism, too, you have been raised up with him through your belief in the power of God who raised him from the dead.

Afternoon reading (None) 2 Timothy 2:8,11 ©
Remember the Good News that I carry, ’Jesus Christ risen from the dead, sprung from the race of David’. Here is a saying that you can rely on: ‘If we have died with him, then we shall live with him.’

Keeping your family in prayer …

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit Of Thy Womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Praise God that this legal battle (whatever it is about) is bringing you closer to God in your relationship with Him! That could be why you needed to suffer the court battle - to deepen what is even more important in your life - your spiritual life and your complete dependency on and trust in the Lord. I pray all continues to work out for the best!

Prayer to Our Lady, Mother of Mercy
Code:
Blessed Virgin Mary, who can worthily repay you with praise and thanks for having rescued a fallen world by your generous consent! Receive our gratitude, and by your prayers obtain the pardon of our sins. Take our prayers into the sanctuary of heaven and enable them to make our peace with God.

Holy Mary, help the miserable, strengthen the discouraged, comfort the sorrowful, pray for your people, plead for the clergy, intercede for all women consecrated to God. May all who venerate you feel now your help and protection. Be ready to help us when we pray, and bring back to us the answers to our prayers. Make it your continual concern to pray for the people of God, foryou were blessed by God and were made worthy to bear the Redeemer of the world, who lives and reigns forever. Amen.

Saint Augustine of Hippo

I thank God so much for the wisdom and strength He has given you and your daughter. You and your son and daughter will remain in my prayers and Masses.
