Dear Friends,

I was curious to know if anyone else out there has ancestry from or relatives who are members of different ritual churches. Myself, I am blessed to be connected to numerous churches. Though majority of my family is Knanaya Catholic (Syro Malabar) my grandmother from my mothers side is Knanaya Jacobite (Syriac Orthodox). With that being said I have many cousins who are Knanaya Jacobite and since we have inter communion between our two churches I have gotten to witness the Jacobite Holy Qurbono many times. But it doesn’t end there, I also have an uncle and a cousin who are Marthomite Christian and I have two Latin Catholic cousins as well. I also have a great aunt whose entire family was converted Pentecostal in their youth, I guess I could say I’ve experienced varieties of Christianity :).

We have figured out that my great grandfather became Roman only after arrival in the US; he emigrated with multiple icons (scattered amongst the sons), and his photos are annotated in Slavonic.

My mother’s a convert - her father was a lapsed Catholic… but he died when she was very young. Her stepfather/adoptive father was presbyterian, but was baptized Catholic shortly before his death. (mere days.)

What you said above is just wonderful, I love how people can turn to the true Church even at the last moment.

The man put up with my grandmother for 60+ years. He has done a good bit of his penance already! (My grandmother was not an easy woman to cope with. Very badly mentally ill, delusional and highly manipulative. So much so that my most christian option in dealing with her was total avoidance, because I couldn’t be kind with the way she treated me and my wife.)
