Please pray for my son. He is in his second week of rehab for heroin addiction.

It took a huge push and months of trying by everybody, including his estranged father, and my mother and father whom he stays with, to get him into rehab. It became a question of going there or going to jail. He has about ten charges pending including one from the girlfriend who encouraged him to get addicted.

We have focused on keeping up with court dates, traffic tickets, tickets including possession, driving under the influence,

This all comes in the wake of my divorce from my husband.

I wanna kill you, he said, for putting me in jail and divorcing dad, then changed it to a suicidal threat.

I am fine. I finally realized that I have to take care of myself to help him and have done so while he has been in my parents care, and now I can see the forest for the trees. My past year included yet another stupid overdose, meaningless, it almost killed me that’s all but it was just stupid, and I was lost before it and stayed lost after it but now the Lord is speaking to me IN EARNEST. With love, with joy, with ecstasy, with bliss. these are the things I desperately need to recover from my life to be there for myself, my son and whatever is to become of us, to love him as he needs me to but find room for me too as I almost got completely crushed by him and his father.

So I need prayer too. for him for me. for faith all around and everywhere in my extended family as faith here has been warfare, my father goes so far as to say that not only is there no God, there’s no such thing as Love either, he says. A brilliant mind gone bad.

One of my son’s charges is for simple assault and his girlfriend has a restraining order against him. I won’t say she’s a hick and a piece of work who took my son for the money he gained from a lawsuit for a horrible injury; that she was just feeding her habit: prayers for her too for she could be a nice young woman if she got the help and support she needs to break her bad behavior, she’s young yet.

Lots of trouble here and I’ve been left burying my head in the sand to escape the pain.

Please pray for my son. He is a borderline Christian, pray for a big push to send him over that edge. There is Jewish antecedency in our family which makes the leap of faith come hard.

I am really happy for you guys in that it would seem there is a beginning to healing on several levels. At the school I work with there have been two deaths by overdose this year. A custodian in his 20s was telling me today that three people he went to school with have very recently died, all from overdoses, all from heroin.

Before I came back to the church, I was so jaded on organized religion. It took the crisis of addiction from a family member, and being sucked down the drain with him for me to seek the solace of God again. Right to the edge of sanity, or insanity I came.

I took that kind of hell, to realize the possibility of heaven. For that reason, I don’t regret the experience, horrible though it was. When I turned to God though, the experience was anything but horrible. It was unreal to see God and the Lord working actively in my life. It was and still is an incredible journey, and to think at one time I thought it was all just hype. The real “hype” is the siren song of drugs, sin, despair, and death. Secular society.

I most certainly have prayed for you and your family. I pray that you too will also will continue on your incredible journey to God.

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give your son guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom to overcome his temptations. FYI, there is a Prayer Warrior Group to pray for Addicts in the Social Groups.

Prayer for Addictions

God of mercy, we bless you in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who ministered to all who come to Him. Give your strength to mouse’s son, who is bound by the chains of addiction. Enfold him in your love and restore him to freedom through your grace.

Lord, look with compassion on all those who have lost their health and have broken relationships because of their attachment to the object of their addiction. Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy, and strengthen them in the work of recovery. To those who care for them, grant patient understanding and a love that perseveres.

Lord, in your servant, Venerable Matt Talbot you have given us a wonderful example of triumph over addiction, of devotion to duty, and of lifelong reverence of the Holy Sacrament. May his life of prayer and penance give mouse’s son courage to take up his cross and follow in the footsteps of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Father, we ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death
Amen.

Praying…+

*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen.*

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal mouse333’s Son. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into mouse333’s Son’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
