The devil does not fear the Lord appropriately because he has distorted himself through evil. It is perfectly understandable he would fear a woman more than the Lord because Satan is imperfect and fallen.
Lightbulb moment. Thank you so much for typing this! 🙂

PS: Duh!!! How have I missed this? 🤦‍♀️

And I completely agree with you. The fact that you are uncomfortable with Marian devotion, but say you have a strong love for her and are dedicated to her in other devotions is inconsistent.
Unfortunately for you, I never said that I’m uncomfortable with Marian devotion. And I don’t appreciate you misrepresenting my words.

That is not what she said. To say that the Devil fears Mary more than God is not saying, “[T]hat everyone has to have the same expression of Marian devotion” that she has. You’re simply projecting, no offense.
You have mashed together two completely different posts, in which I was responding to two completely different statements from two completely different people.

Perhaps you could read what you’re replying to.

Actually, to say you are “back pedalling” for the third time doing the consecration, are “hesitant to do consecration to Mary” and are “not sure it should be done” (direct quotes) means you are uncomfortable. It means to cause or feel unease. Which is exactly what you are saying.
Not being comfortable with one particular statement in one particular devotion is in no way the same thing as being uncomfortable with Marian devotion in general, which is what you said about me.

Do try a little logic.

You said you were hesitant to do the Consecration because of that statement. You are uncomfortable with doing the Consecration. You literally said you were hesitant to do the Consecration.
Yes, I did. But I did not say that I am uncomfortable with Marian devotion, which – since you’ve apparently already forgotten – is what you said about me.
There are many more Marian devotions than the Consecration.

I really have to wonder why you are so intent on attacking me because I don’t do one particular devotion.

Also, I am in no way intending to be rude or offend you. I would appreciate if we could speak kindly with each other.
I would, too. But you would have to stop accusing me of saying things I did not say.

Excuse me, I realize in one particular post i said devotion, but I meant to say Consecration. I am not intending to attack you at all. I cannot help that you refuse to see how you are contradicting yourself. I have done all I can, kindly intended to show you that.

Have a good day

Repeated claims that I said something I did not, are attacks. And assuming you know more about my faith and devotions than I do is arrogance.
I’m out of this thread. Go attack someone else.

Please forgive me all! I realized I was accidentally replying to the wrong person this whole time and had mistaken them for the original post. I feel so dumb!!!

If you could see the facepalm i have right now… I should’ve read more carefully. I genuinely was just trying to be logical and not offend anyone, but now realizing that I was replying to the wrong person, I see why you would be offended! @angel12 please forgive me

guess this is what happens when you pray the Litany of Humility…

I agree with you…I pray the rosary daily…I also pray the divine mercy daily…some prayers I will ask our Blessed Mother for her intercession…as I will to certain saints…but most of my prayers are directed to either/or… the Father…the Son…the Holy Spirit…as long as Christ is the center of ones worship then that is what we as Christians should focus on.

If you have doubt you shouldn’t do it. It shows lack of faith.

No, but I believe I am the person you are referring to, since I am the person who started the thread. I don’t think I’m contradicting myself. I take the Consecration seriously, therefore, I want to be clear about what I am doing, why I should do it, and have some questions answered. Nowhere in the Catechism does it say that anyone needs to make the Consecration, and I really don’t see how I am being inconsistent saying I love Mary, pray the Rosary, but am not sure about the Consecration. I have been given a lot of good explanations and things to think about with this thread.

Here is a direct quote from that verse that’s been causing everyone some trouble.
Thus the most fearful enemy that God has set up against the devil is Mary, his holy Mother. From the time of the earthly paradise, although she existed then only in his mind, he gave her such a hatred for his accursed enemy, such ingenuity in exposing the wickedness of the ancient serpent and such power to defeat, overthrow and crush this proud rebel, that Satan fears her not only more than angels and men but in a certain sense more than God himself. This does not mean that the anger, hatred and power of God are not infinitely greater than the Blessed Virgin’s, since her attributes are limited. It simply means that Satan, being so proud, suffers infinitely more in being vanquished and punished by a lowly and humble servant of God, for her humility humiliates him more than the power of God. Moreover, God has given Mary such great power over the evil spirits that, as they have often been forced unwillingly to admit through the lips of possessed persons, they fear one of her pleadings for a soul more than the prayers of all the saints, and one of her threats more than all their other torments.
