Agreed. The concept of no universal truths, even without a God, can lead to some dangerous paths.I agree that there is an ultimate moral authority. I’m not sure how well we understand it. If the universal truth were to turn out to be that this is the only life we get, that there is nothing beyond the grave, I think that we could still conclude that life matters. What could have more value that the finite gift of existence, no matter how we obtain the gift?
