Hey snorers out there--anyone try this device?

I showed my dh, and he was like…“so, do you think you’ll be uncomfortable wearing that?”

Very funny.

I said…it’s for YOU, silly. You snore so loud, it’s getting impossible to sleep all through the night.

We bought a new bed – we love the bed–we needed a new mattress…thinking a new one would stop the snoring problem. Wrong.

So…would you wear this if your sweetheart wanted you to, to stop snoring? (also, it decreases sleep apnea, so it seems like it’s designed to give the snorer a better night’s sleep?)

Ok, I ordered this for hubby…he was laughing, but I think he’ll be grateful…so will I. Please let this work for him…really, his snoring is BAAAAD.

If his snoring is that bad, get him checked for sleep apnea, which can be a big stressor on the heart.

My DH snored horribly bad - he did a sleep study and was found to have severe sleep apnea. He tried the Cpap machines, but they did not work at all. He finally had surgery to insert this rigid sticks in his soft palate to keep his airway open when he sleeps. His snoring is better, but still not gone completely. However, he had another sleep study, and he no longer has apnea.

I agree with Catholic90. He should get to a doctor and be checked for sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea is a killer. Don’t mess with patent medicines or machines. Get treated by a doctor.

My husband has sleep apnea. He wears a C-pap, and it has made sleeping with him a pleasure again. For years, I was sleep deprived and so was he. At times I would make him move out to the sofa so I could sleep.

He had this problem even when he wasn’t overweight. Adding weight over the years just exacerbated it.

The C-pap isn’t exactly romantic to look at. (I keep waiting for a hunk on one of the television shows to slip one on before he goes to sleep–that would be so great!!). We joke about me sleeping with Darth Vader (actually his machine is very quiet).

But he doesn’t wear the C-pap while we are, ahem, being romantic. And it’s sooooo nice to know that I won’t be waked up every hour by his horrible snoring. A few times he has forgotten to put it on (usually after “ahem”), and sure enought, I am awakened by that awful loud snoring.

I think that as more and more people are diagnosed with sleep apnea, C-paps will improve and not be so ungainly and uncomfortable. But in the meantime, you do what you have to do to stay alive. I’d rather wake up next to a man wearing a C-pap then wake up next to a corpse.
