Just an update. I contacted the Coming Home Network and they sent me some great literature. I’ve read the Roots of the Reformation by Karl Adam. I also started a study, “We Believe: A Survey of the Catholic Faith” by Oscar Lukefahr, C.M. My wife has offered to go to Mass with me and even to RCIA and the Coming Home Network conference in Ohio in November. I’m going to send in the scholarship request to help with the expense. God is answering prayer. Thanks for all your prayers. Keep praying.

Hello everyone! I’m Doug and am a Southern Baptist minister who is now convinced the Catholic Church is the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I desire to be become a Catholic but my wife and daughter do not. What should I do as head of the home?

Ask thm to come along one day to Mass. Ask them to read some books.

Swear to God, Catholicism and Fundimentalism are the ticket. But, let them think about it.

I would caution that before you jump ship to “Mother church”, you might read some of the better Christian apologetics on www.monergism.com and aomin.org. Being a former Catholic I am somewhat stunned by Christians who forsake the simplicity of the Gospel and embrace the traditions of men. Certainly history shows that the Early church doctrine is not todays Roman Catholic doctrine. I find it troublesome that you are so willing to embrace salvation by mandatory belief in every pronouncement of the magisterium

kaycee you are nothing but a font of anti-Catholic rhetoric with all this bunk. History shows that there was no Sola Scriptura in the early church! But it does show that there was a Eucharist. There wasn’t even any of that in the Judaism of Jesus’ own time, even as there isn’t today.
All the rest of the doctrines that you try to lay on us are nothing more than further errors that spring form that main one.

I can’t understand why you feel that it’s okay to come into a Catholic forum on a near daily basis and run down the Catholic faith which was doing fine long before you “jumped ship” and will continue to do so until Our Lord returns and beyond. Meanwhile…souls fall into hell like raindrops in a storm because you waste time here “preaching to the choir” instead of working in the fields that are great with harvest.
