Hidden prophesy in Genesis 5(this is really cool!)

The first 10 names in Genesis 5 are Adam, Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahaleleel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lames, and Noah. In that order. The translations of those names in that order is kind of interesting though, and I thought I’d share it with you guys bc I find it amazing lol.

Adam: man
Seth: appointed
Enos: mortal
Cainan: sorrow
Mahalaleel: the blessed God
Jared: shall come down
Enoch: teaching
Methuselah: his death shall bring
Lames: the despairing
Noah: comfort

Read the english translations in order, it blew my mind

Not sure where you got those meanings of those names?, but not all are the same meanings I have (from the Hebrew).

Adam = red earth (Derived from the Hebrew adama)
Seth = appointed (Anglicized form of Shet)
Enosh = man
Kenan = To acquire, to possess.
Mahalalel = Praise Of God
Jared = descendant (Anglicized form of Yared)
Enoch = dedicated. Derived from the Hebrew “hanokh”
Methuselah = “Man of a Javelin/Dart”, or alternatively, “man who was sent”
Lamech = Poor, Made Low
Noah = Rest

well first of all, I don’t speak a word of Hebrew. A protestant pastor showed us a bunch of things like that in the bible, and my English teacher actually told us about the Shakespeare in the KJV thing earlier this week and I was talking to a friend about it which reminded me about all of the things the pastor told us and I asked her to forward the slides to me and I posted that one. But the email just says that those are the hebrew meanings. Would you happen to know if there are maybe multiple meanings for those words?

woah, i looked further into the names and they do mean those things in hebrew:

methuselah name in hebrew does mean “Man of the dart/spear”, or alternatively “his death shall bring” the man of the dart/spear is interesting how Jesus was pierced on his side what a wonderful God we have

Adam has more than one meaning, because at first the Hebrew word was used as a verb to mean “man or mankind” -both male and female. Later it was used exclusively as a noun, for Adam’s name. But the etymology of the name is from “red earth” from which mankind was said to have been made.

I always wondered why the naming of Cains offspring sort of follows that of Seth. I believe he settled away from Adam and Eve so its not like he called them up for naming advice, but perhaps there was a pre-ordained sense that each bloodline followed. A bit like traditional greek families, they follow a set schema about naming more so than following choice

I dont know what those meanings of Cain’s are or if they are an angry corruption of Seth’s, or a copy attempt trying to regain mum and dad’ls favour, or something else entirely differnet
