I agree. Hieromonk Ambrose needs prayers that God may alleviate his suffering as He sees fit. Anything else is not helpful at this time.

Indeed. This thread was about cancer, not about debating his beliefs.

As to whether a convert from Catholicism to Orthodoxy is “an apostate from Catholicism” (!) this has been discussed in a number of threads, for example this one.

Father Ambrose is a man of God who has found Him perfectly in the Orthodox Church.

It was quite necessary. If someone were to ask for prayers for Jack Chick, I’d certainly pray for him…but, I’d want to make sure folks knew who and what he was. No different here, except Jack never was Catholic.

I would say this ^^ is inappropriate to this thread, except that I can see you aren’t trying to start a debate, but rather responding to a debate that was already started. Still, I wonder if we shouldn’t start a new thread.

If by anti-catholicism, you mean being against the administration of the Catholic Church, then pretty much all Orthodox are “anti-catholic”, and most Catholics are rather “anti-orthodox” (look at all of the Moscow bashing that goes on here at CAF)

I fear many don’t know him - and his quote exposes him for what he is. Yes, we need to pray for him. But, he is not what many here say he is. He publicly says Catholicism is a vehicle for damnation - and you want us to pretend he’s all sweetness and light? He needs our prayers as all anti-Catholics do.
But, we don’t need to honor him!
