Wow, many people got married on the anniversary of their first date/when they met! Did anyone meet, get engaged, and married on the same day/month (different years, of course!)?

My engagement was 7 days after the meeting/wedding day, because that was the day we started dating. So, we met and married on the same day (different year); we dated and got engaged on the same day (different year); and those 2 days are 7 days apart. Make sense? And we knew each other for 7 years before getting married. We apparently like the number 7.

And they didn’t get moldy? I kept mine until it turned into a real gross mess

No, I dried them (hung them upside down in a dark, dry place), and I think I might have sprayed them with something (maybe a can of floral preservation stuff?). With my wedding flowers, my florist got the highest quality silks that exist.

Yes, we are *incredibly *blessed! :heaven: It really freaks me out sometimes comparing my nonexistant crosses to the huge crosses of others. Kind of gets me wondering when my “real” cross will “hit” me.

Nah, just be thankful you haven’t had any “biggies” yet. Just because some of us have had some real doozies (at fairly young ages) doesn’t mean we’re done or that we won’t get more. I’m rather enjoying my temporary time off. And that’s all it is, temporary. Those crosses come eventually.

I have my corsage in it’s original box and my wedding bouquet I just left out until they dried. I didn’t do anything special to them.

My husband, who is a few years older than I am, was actually at my junior prom. A co-worker of his begged him to take her daughter, because the daughter’s date had backed out at the last minute. My husband says he felt pretty silly at a high school junior prom. We could never have met in high school anyway, his school was all boys.
My best friend met her husband in 10th grade chemistry class (I was there too!) We were all friendly, and after I started dating his best friend in senior year, I talked her into dating our chemistry buddy. She was a little hesitant because he was one of those “smart” types. After dating for 13 years, they were married in 1998, and are still going strong 22 years later. It turns out those “smart” types make great husbands with great jobs. We didn’t get a chance to go to our 20 year reunion, but we saw the pictures and the school jock my friend had a crush on had aged pretty bad, and I think would be very happy to trade places with her husband, who has aged pretty nicely. I joke with her about talking her into that first date.
My own “smart” type and also quite handsome DH tells our daughters to let me pick out their dates in the future, since I did so well with my girlfriend.

Didn’t have a girlfriend in highschool, didn’t really have a love affair, maybe a crush or two but very light overall. I can count up to three friends who could theoretically grow closer again upon meeting again after university, but probabilities are low. So all in all I guess I won’t be married to anyone met during highschool or university time.

known eachother since i was in 7th grade, started dating my junior year of high school (his senior yr), and getting married in July

moi & DH, my school and his were in a regional activity, Model United Nations (huge excuse for teen socializing) and met at those activities at a local college campus. He dated my best friend for a year, and I dated his but somehow over the summer everybody in the gang broke up and started new relationships, and the rest is history. Married will still in college, 3 kids bam bam bam, and the rest is all a dim blur until retirement and move to SoTex.
