Hindu funeral - what happens there?

I’ve been invited to a Hindu funeral tomorrow.
I am nervous about the idea.
What if they worship other gods there? What if they bow down to them?
I don’t want to be an offense, but my religion forbids me from doing this.
Oh, I don’t even know why I’m even asking so late. Any decent Hindu is probably
in bed already!
Well, if anyone knows whether worship of other gods is required at a Hindu
funeral, please let me know… thanks…

Probably not helpful, but I’ve been to a Hindu temple before with one of my Hindu friends, and I was never required to do anything I didn’t want to do. If you’re going into the temple, you’ll have to take off your shoes, and when you’re sitting on the floor, keep your feet folded like everyone else (they see it as disrespectful to have your feet pointed at the statues). You do not have to bow down to anything, say anything, light any lamps, receive any anointings, etc. This is no different than a non-Catholic going to Mass and not doing anything they 1) aren’t comfortable doing/against their religion and 2) not allowed to do anyway by the Catholic faith.

You were right, it was all good.
I found it a very spiritual experience, and the speaker mentioned Jesus Christ as
the perfect man to emulate.
Also, there was loud crying that I haven’t experienced in a funeral before.
I am used to everyone trying to control their grief, cry as quietly as possible, and
not speak if they are too emotional.
The family members who spoke made everyone cry loudly and they cried loudly
themselves.
There was a beautiful custom of each person lovingly placing a rose by the deceased.
It’s just as true in the Hindu faith as it is in ours, Love Doesn’t Die.
