I have got a Hindu friend that thinks basically “whatever you believe”, which apparently is consistent with the polytheistic nature of Hinduism. Does anyone have a good argument or way to approach such a person?

The position he has is basically, how can we really know about God? I have a hard time approaching relativists about something that is Objective, does anyone have a good way to go about it? Thanks.

You can’t argue with someone who has rejected argument itself. It’s literally impossible, if he’s consistent about it.

We know about God because God talks to us, albeit not always in words.

Tell him about the numerous miracles that have occured in Christianity. No other religion comes close to Christianity in this regard.

Try to get him to see that (at least) some things are objectively right or wrong. If he resists, hit him. Then ask him if that was wrong.

😉 don’t actually hit him 😉

Ha!

He does believe there is some such thing as objective morality and that there is some god or gods ruling this universe, but he reasons that we as humans have no way of knowing what god that is and thus whatever god anyone believes in is ok.

If there’s just too much distance between us and God for us to reach him, presumably there would be no reason why God couldn’t reach out to us, would there?
