Being highly devoted to the priesthood and the Eucharist, my greatest hope and most of my prayers go towards the healing of the schism between Elder Rome and New Rome, both when I was a Catholic of the Western Church and now as a catechumen of Holy Orthodoxy.

When I read that His All Holiness Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome, and Ecumenical Patriarch was going to be at the inaugural Mass of His Holiness Pope Francis, Bishop-elect of Rome, I jumped for joy for all of my Catholic and Orthodox brothers and sisters in Christ on both sides of the schism.

I am sure there are many threads about this topic, but I just wanted to show my elation upon reading this. I hope and pray that this is just one of many fruits of our prayers towards Christian unity as Christ Himself prayed for.

John 17:11And now I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, while I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are.

Peace

Sounds like good sound rational thinking to me. Couldn’t be much more hate, war and poverty in the world at the moment, couldn’t happen at a more critical moment.

It was all good Doctrinal therapy though. I do believe its time to put that baby to bed though. 😛
