His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese, suffered long with prostate cancer. Within the past week he was admitted to a hospital and received hospice care. He reposed today, Sunday, March 13, 2011. The story may be found here: acrod.org/news/releases/mn-obituary

Throughout his life, he emphasized the need for Orthodox and Catholics to work together in harmony.

I believe today was the 28th Anniversary of His Eminence’s consecration to the Episcopacy. Thanksgiving for a life lived so beautifully in great service to the Body of Christ!

That is correct. It’s also the Sunday of Orthodoxy. He reposed at 3 p.m., the same time Christ died.
