Why? Because some people have not learned to read critically. They read a technical work as if it were written for a layman, fail to distinguish what is and isn’t said, and within what parameters.

It is the same reason that laymen read court decisions and totally miss what was actually said or not said. They have not learned to read critically.

This does not work at all. This school is wouild never work in any other literary field. In fatc it is soundly rejected by any and all literary scholars regarding classics or ancient histrical wirtings. You are assuming scholarship where none exists. Don’t confuse new and novel ideas with actuall literary and historical scholarship. You will not find this type of “scholarship” in the fields of history or literature. Period. It is exclusive to “Biblical Scholarship” of one kind. That should not give anyone confidence in the veracity of their claims.

Reading skeptically and reading critically are not the same thing.
