Where can I find some info on historical proofs of jesus and the apostles . I have been in a debate with my brother (a friendly good debate) and he isn’t convinced of any proof of jesus or the apostles . I told him I didn’t know of exact evidence but I would find out for him .

Josh McDowell’s book series, Evidence That Demands A Verdict. (But always remember that—as in the example where Jesus tells Peter that his conviction of Jesus being the Messiah was from God—all the debating and evidence in the world aren’t going to be the ultimate “conversion factor”: look at all the folks who saw His miracles and still didn’t believe.)

Dr. Ludwig Ott (Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma, p. 125f) cites several pagan and Jewish authors who noted the historical existence of Our Lord and His disciples:

Greek:
Tacitus (Annales, XV, 44)
Suetonius (Vita Claudii, 25, 4)
Pliny the Younger (Epistle X, 96)
[Syrian] Mara Bar Serapion (wrote a letter to his son about Jesus)

Jewish:
Flavius Josephus (Antiquitates, XX 9, 1; XVIII 3, 3)
The Talmud, Tract Bab. Sanhedrin, 43a; 67a.
