I am interested in first century church history that hardly exists outside of scripture, which is not dated. Can anyone direct me to literature proffering events in Jerusalem or other places during this time.
Estimates of pauls conversion c. 33, James beheading c.42, James execution 62, are all I have. When was Stephen Stoned? Is anything available on this shrouded time?

Actually, with the exception of the Roman civil wars, we’ve probably got more material on first century Palestine than any other society in Ancient history.

Josephus is the major non-biblical source.

3 standard works which will lead you to the primary sources for 1st century history are
Christendom, Rolad Bainton (Harper & Row 1966)
The Early Church (Henry Chadwick, Penguin edition, 1967, 1985)
Background of Early Christianity (Everett Ferguson, Wm Eerdmans, 1987) his bibliography is by chapter, not at the end, which makes it somewhat easier to track sources

Warren Carrol’s history of Christendom is a great synthesis of earlier scholarship. 1st c history is in general very well documented, but bear in mind history of the Roman Empire does not as a rule deal with obscure figures and events in minor provinces of the empire unless they involved threats to Roman authority or military and political affairs that figured in the rise of various emperors. Bear in mind also the scripture and ECF are primary sources themselves, to be weighted in scholarship with other primary source material.

If you are looking for exact historical information for specific New Testament events such as these, you aren’t going to find them in outside historical sources. At the time, Christianity was a small obscure Jewish sect in a backwater of the Roman Empire and no one thought to take note of it’s internal history. Even the NT writers themselves (except for Luke in a couple of cases) seem unconcerned with historical dates at all, the more important issue being that it really happened and how it happened.
