History Channel's "Bible" Series?

Hello all!

While I think that most of you know that the History Channel is doing a documentary on the Bible, I feel somewhat skeptical about it. I have found that most of the documentaries done by this network aren’t really correct when it comes to the Church’s teachings. But I wanted to know if anyone here is planning to watch it, and if anyone knows what version of the Bible they are using. Does anyone know which translation they are using? I wanted to know because well, if they are doing a show about the Bible, then how can they really mess it up? but then again, it is the History Channel and their show “Ancient Aliens” had an image of St. Michael and in the background a voice said, “Angels; messengers from God? Or aliens sent to destroy Earth?” That turned me off of the History Channel for quite a while. Thanks in advance!
 
I normally like the History channel but when it comes to the Bible, I’ll stick with Catholic sources. I even avoid protestant type sites.
 
I’ve seen the previews and they used an Amy Grant song that definitely turned me off, but I’m still going to check it out.
 
There is a history channel in name only. It should be renamed “the reality tv channel”. Either its 4 fat guys buying and selling junk (pawn stars), people swearing and fighting while they cut down trees YAWN!..
I think an actual history channel would be successful. I have 72 channels and will soon disconnect. All the channels are for morons( Jersy Shore makes Gilligan’s Island look like Shakespeare,the characters in Gilligans isle are far more intelligent and sophisticated!!! ). The moron viewing public is divided by 72. True there are more morons watching tv then intelligent people. However is the ratio 72 /1?! In other words if there was one intelligent channel it would have the entire intelligent viewer pie. True that pie is much smaller then the moron viewer pie,but unlike the moron pie it would not be divided into 71 pieces.
PS: Anyone that thinks reality tv is real is a moron.
 
The History Channel is showing it but did not produce it.

Roma Downy ("Touched by an Angel) and her husband are the producers. Roma, a devout Catholic, plays Mary.

EWTN’s Raymond Arroyo had them on The World Over, last night talking about the project.
 
I heard on “Catholics Come Home” on Catholic Radio a couple weeks ago that this bible series was done by a renowned director, who is Protestant, but his wife is a very devout Catholic. “Catholics Come Home” said that they aren’t as skeptical about this as other bible series on the history channel, especially since they know the two who directed it :D. They will also have a “Catholics come home” commercial on the series; a one minute commercial on the night of the premier and a 30 second one on the other nights.

I’m looking forward to it and seeing if i can catch any mistakes :D:D:D

She is a devout Irish Catholic.
