Is there a site that has information with regards to how, when, and where the books of the Bible originated and how they were all eventually compiled and bound by the Church? I’ve been googling “History of the Bible” many times but I couldn’t find any that were accurate.

I would recommend the book “Why Catholic Bibles are Bigger”. Although I haven’t read it, I’ve heard nothing but good things!

Where we go the Bible: Our Debt to the Catholic Church, written by Rt. Rev. Henry G. Graham. Its a fantastic read. This book will only take you a few days to finish it.
Since it first appeared in 1911, Where We Got the Bible has gone through numerous printings and has been available in print almost continually ever since. The reader will soon discover the popularity of this book, for it covers the salient facts of the Bible’s history in a clear, easily understood manner. Here are discussed the sources for our canon of books of both the Old and New Testaments, along with vital information relative to the Bible in the life of the Church. A book certain to inform and please contemporary readers as it has those in former years.
More then half of Rev. Graham’s sources for this book are Protestant.

I heard it reported that a Protestant Fundamenalist was heard to say that if the KJV version was OK for Jesus Christ it was OK for him.

Both books mentioned are very good. The book by Graham is a good start. For a more in depth discussion, the Mitchuta book does a nice job covering the information.

A site with alot of information is:

www.phatmass.com

Hope this helps.
